Revolutionary D-EYE Smartphone-Based Retinal Imaging System Announces Exhibit at AAO 2016
Research-backed D-EYE showcases effectiveness in surveying the posterior of the eye, new app, and quick release bumper design at Booth 1677
CHICAGO — October 4, 2016 — D-EYE, a pioneer in smartphone-based retinal screening, is pleased to announce its exhibition at the 2016 American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting. Recent enhancements on display include D-EYE’s new iPhone app (Version 2.0) and quick release bumper design. Attendees can meet with D-EYE October 15-18 at McCormick Place, Booth 1677.
Recently featured research studies in the Journal of Glaucoma and the Journal of Hypertension describe the effectiveness of D-EYE in the estimation of the Vertical Cup-to-Disc Ratio (VCDR) and detecting abnormal ocular fundus findings. D-EYE works with Apple iPhones to flawlessly capture images and videos of the posterior of the eye for medical screenings. The award-winning lens design eliminates corneal glare, a reoccurring issue when using the traditional ophthalmoscope or other direct lens systems during eye examinations.
With the company’s recent debut of its new bumper latch design and app, D-EYE’s performance as an easy and portable means of examination is more efficient than ever before. Deemed the “digital ophthalmoscope,” D-EYE’s iPhone compatibility includes the 6, 6S, 6+, 6S+, 5, 5S, and SE. New features in the D-EYE App 2.0 include additional image editing capabilities, an image mask, allowing users to highlight the posterior pole in real time, and auto focus calibration for myopic, hyperopic, and emmetropic eyes, saving time when conducting each retinal exam.
The D-EYE system is ideal for the screening of a variety of pathologies including glaucoma, later stage diabetic retinopathy (DR), age related macular degeneration (AMD), papilledema, hypertensive retinopathy, and various other eye disorders. Viewed by users as a digital window to the body, D-EYE is also used by neuro-ophthalmologists, neurologists, pediatric ophthalmologists, pediatricians, emergency physicians, and many other specialists who perform an ophthalmoscopy as a routine patient examination practice.
At AAO, D-EYE executives will showcase the retinal imaging system’s efficiency via live examinations and are available for interview.
