D-EYE Modern Digital Ophthalmoscope Launches Bumper

Newly redesigned retinal screening device, compatible with iPhone 5, 5S, 6, 6S, SE, 6+ and 6S+, is easier than ever to attach and use
Padova, Italy and Pasadena, Calif.— August 23, 2016 — D-EYE, a trailblazer in smartphone-based retinal screening, announced today that it has expanded its compatibility with iPhones to include the SE, 6+ and 6S+, in addition to the 5, 5S, 6, and 6S. Today also marks the release of D-EYE’s new innovative bumper design, incorporating a latch feature that will improve ease of use and efficiency.
“We are thrilled to introduce D-EYE’s new bumper design,” said D-EYE CEO Richard Sill. “The latch was specially crafted to support users who wish to utilize their smartphones with and without D-EYE. This redesign along with compatibility with the latest iPhone models supports D-EYE’s transition into serving as the primary ophthalmoscope for physicians, allowing quick and efficient screenings for a large variety of medical conditions and pathologies.”

Invented by Italian Ophthalmologist Dr. Andrea Russo, the D-EYE Retinal Imaging System is quickly becoming the modern digital ophthalmoscope. The breakthrough lens design eliminates corneal glare, a common issue when using a traditional ophthalmoscope. The D-EYE lens attaches to iPhones via a customized “quick release” magnetic bumper.  The bumper aligns the D-EYE lens with the camera and LED light source of the smartphone to capture images and videos of the posterior of the eye.
D-EYE’s new bumpers are now available for all D-EYE models including the new iPhone 6 Plus and SE.  https://www.d-eyecare.com/en_US/shop
