Improving access to vital health services
Our first product, developed in part with a grant from the Fondazione Cottino and with support from the University of Brescia, the revolutionary D-EYE Smartphone-Based Retinal Imaging System focuses on eye health. Subsequent mobile-health products and services will target screening and evaluation of other medical conditions and pathologies.
D-EYE was created by Si14 SpA, a visionary original design and development laboratory for novel technology products that enhance the way we live, work and play.
Our Story
D-EYE Srl is a leading developer of retinal screening systems for smartphones. Founded in 2014, the company won the Applico Prize by Fondazione Cottino and €100,000 to develop its innovative project. In 2015, the visionary original design and development laboratory for novel technology products Si14 started to support D-EYE in the development of its Smartphone-Based Retinal Imaging System. In 2016, D-EYE received 1,5 million investment by Innogest, Invitalia Ventures, Giovanni and Annamaria Cottino Foundation and Si14.
In November 2017 D-EYE won the Best Business Prize of the prestigious Italian award Premio Gaetano Marzotto and received €300,000 for future product developments.
Today, D-EYE is one of the major companies of retinal screening systems in the world, attending the most important international conferences and meetings every year.

An ophthalmologist in private practice as well as a Ph.D. candidate researcher with the University of Brescia in Italy, Andrea’s vision for and dedication to an affordable, easy-to-use device for retinal screenings resulted in the creation of the D-EYE Portable Retinal Imaging System.

Chairman
Ruggero Frezza serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of M31 Italia Srl. Professor at the Department of Information Engineering in the University of Padova, he chose to abandon his teaching post in order to focus on M31
